Krusee Bill Prohibits State Highway 130 Billboards

When surveying the scenic Texas Hill Country along the new State Highway 130, there's one thing you won't see, thanks to legislation authored by Representative Mike Krusee during the 79th Legislative Session.  With the passage of House Bill 2702, State Highway 130 has been added to the growing list of highways upon which billboards are prohibited.

Representative Krusee chose to add language banning billboards on State Highway 130 to his omnibus transportation bill, House Bill 2702, as the clock was running down on his standalone bill designed to do the same thing.

House Bill 2702 was passed by the Texas Legislature in the 2005 session's waning hours, and was signed by Governor Perry on June 15, 2005.  The measure took effect immediately upon the Governor's signature.  The bill adds State Highway 130 to the list of the thirteen roads on which billboards are prohibited, in Chapter 391.252 of the transportation code.
